I wanted to include Guy Clark in this set because of the admiration I have for him as a songwriter. I also didn't want to limit myself to only including Bluegrass artists. I have an equal admiration for Americana artists, and their respect for their music. In this drawing I wanted to capture Guy's finger picking style of playing. I also wanted to include guy's vest in the drawing because it seems to be a standard in his wardrobe when he is performing. I have been a little more detailed in this drawing to pay closer attention to the grains in the wood of the guitar and the inlays. I did this partially because Guy is also a guitar builder in his spare time. In titling the piece "the Craftsman's Tools," I wanted to draw attention to Guy as a songwriter and guitar builder. The tools I refer to are his hands, picks, and guitars.
