Second only to Earl Scruggs in the development of the Banjo in bluegrass music is Ralph Stanley. Along with his Brother Carter, the Stanley brothers toured at the same time as Bill Monroe and the Bluegrass Boys and they were very instrumental in the development of the genre and its early popularity. After Carter passed Ralph continued to tour and record with the Clinch Mountain Boys, staying true to the traditional bluegrass sound which he helped create. His career has now spanned more than fifty years, and he has kept the influences of old time mountain music alive in his unique style of bluegrass music.
